Cold, wet weather through September and early October slowed harvest in Alberta and Saskatchewan and downgraded crops to feed grade. Feed grain prices in Alberta fell around 70 cents per bushel for feed wheat as producers rushed to sell high-moisture grain.
Heavy farmer selling of downgraded wheat and barley floods the feed market and pushes local feed grain prices lower, with feedlots able to wait for better prices.
