The USDA announced the November Federal order Class III milk benchmark at $14.44 per cwt, down $1.09 from October and $2.44 below November 2017. It is the lowest Class III price since July 2018 and the lowest November price since 2009.
California producers received their first Federal order Class III and IV prices.
Falling Class III prices reduce dairy producers' margins and signal weak demand for milk components, which can pressure dairy-based feed demand and sentiment. Futures pointed to further weakness into December.
