Sellers raised asking prices on the Clear Grain Exchange, with wheat booked about $15/t above published bids and sorghum trading at new levels. Delivered Darling Downs wheat and barley for June and July rose another $20-25/t, and cottonseed prices firmed in northern markets.
Concern over the forward crop is pulling buyers into forward purchases and lifting feed grain values in Australia. Tighter nearby supply and firm barley and sorghum prices raise the cost of feed for local buyers.
