A University of Minnesota study finds climate change has raised corn and soybean yields in parts of the Upper Midwest, with Minnesota corn up 2.8% and soybeans up 8%. Yields have fallen in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, and global yields for palm oil, barley, rice and wheat have declined.
The findings are long-term yield trends rather than a new supply shock, so they have little immediate effect on prices, though they hint at shifting regional production over time.
