USDA data showed China bought 60,000 tonnes of wheat, 50,000 tonnes of sorghum and 1,350 tonnes of pork in the week ended Aug. 1, plus about 71,200 tonnes of soybeans.
The sales came before the latest tariff threats and may be the last U.S. farm sales to China for some time.
These are the final purchases before new tariffs, so they give modest short-term support, but the outlook for further Chinese buying is poor.
