The EU MARS monthly report says heavy rain between 1 October and 20 November has limited winter cereal planting in parts of Europe, with France and northern Italy hit hardest. Winter wheat area for the 2020 harvest is expected to fall in the UK, Ireland and the Benelux, and France is expected to report a smaller area.
A smaller EU winter wheat area and delayed sowing point to lower 2020 supplies from a major exporter, supporting wheat and feed grain prices.
