Chicago soyoil futures reached their highest in about 18 months after the EPA proposed larger-than-expected biofuel blending volumes over the next two years. Renewed Israel-Iran strikes lifted crude oil, while soybeans edged higher and wheat and corn retreated.
The biofuel mandate and higher crude both increase demand for soyoil, which supports soybean crush values, while weak corn and wheat demand and benign weather weigh on those grains.
