The August 2021 Federal Order Class III milk price was announced at $15.95 per cwt, down 54 cents from July, and the Class IV price fell to $15.92. The gap between the two classes nearly disappeared, lowering the chance of negative producer price differentials.
Lower cheese and butter values pulled milk prices down, which weakens dairy farm margins and may reduce milk output and feed purchases over time.
