AEGIC told international feed buyers that sprouted wheat is nutritionally similar to unsprouted wheat unless sprouting is extensive. Rain at harvest caused widespread downgrading in NSW, and AEGIC is running webinars for Asian customers.
Buyers can use downgraded sprouted wheat in feed rations, adding available feed supply at discounted prices and reducing demand for other feed grains in Asia.
