The European Commission cut its EU maize crop forecast again. It raised its soft wheat production forecast to 126.0 million tonnes from 123.9 million tonnes in late July.
Projected EU soft wheat exports were unchanged at 36 million tonnes, and end-of-season stocks were raised by 2 million tonnes to 15.7 million.
A shrinking EU maize crop increases import demand for corn and feed substitutes, while the larger wheat crop and higher stocks weigh on wheat prices.
