A USDA FAS report forecasts Australian wheat production at 31 million tonnes and barley at 12.5 million tonnes for 2025/26, both down year over year but above the 10-year averages. Conditions are favourable in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia, while South Australia and western Victoria remain dry.
Wheat exports are projected at 23 million tonnes.
Reduced Australian exports tighten the world wheat balance, which supports prices for feed grains. Strong output in the main growing states should keep the rally contained.
