Pro Farmer reports the April WASDE cut 2024-25 U.S. corn carryover by 75 million bushels to 1.465 billion, 45 million below trade estimates. Soybean carryover fell to 375 million bushels, and wheat carryover rose to 846 million.
Early market reaction was muted, with corn trading 2 to 5 cents higher by midday.
A lower corn carryout supports corn prices and feed costs, but the muted early reaction suggests the market had partly priced in the cut.
