The JRC's June 2025 drought report says a severe drought affects central, northern and eastern Europe, plus the eastern Mediterranean and northwest Africa, following a lack of rain from March to May. The MARS bulletin shows the Iberian Peninsula, Italy and Greece with abundant rain and yields that could be 15-20% higher in Spain and Portugal.
Drought in north-western and eastern Europe threatens spring crops and feed grain supply, which supports feed prices, while strong Iberian yields partly offset that risk for wheat and barley.
