Nigerian poultry farmers face high feed prices even though maize prices have fallen sharply this year. A feed miller says a 25 kg broiler feed bag fell from N25,000 to about N14,500-15,000, while soybean costs remain high at N70,000-78,000 per 100 kg.
Imported minerals, amino acids and other additives are also keeping feed costs elevated due to forex volatility.
