Taxguru published the DGFT Notification No. 55/2025-26, dated January 16, 2026. It keeps the prohibition on wheat flour exports, including atta, maida and semolina, but allows exports of up to 5 lakh metric tonnes under a specific export authorisation.
Operational modalities will be notified separately.
The notification creates a small, controlled export window for Indian wheat flour, adding limited demand for wheat. The overall effect on prices is minor because the quota is small.
