Corn and wheat fell early Wednesday as crude oil eased on progress in US-Iran peace talks, with traders viewing the war as largely settled. Soybeans, cattle and hogs were mostly higher, and planting progress for corn reached 86% nationally, ahead of the five-year average.
Lower crude oil reduces ethanol and biofuel demand expectations, pressuring corn and wheat, while ahead-of-average planting limits weather premium.
