Indonesia raised the export duty on crude palm oil from 18 to 33 USD per tonne and the plantation fund levy from 85 to 90 USD per tonne under Regulation No.1552/2022, after the reference price was set at 871.99 USD per tonne. The changes were effective from mid-December 2022 and the measures were later extended.
Higher export duties and levies raise the cost of exporting Indonesian palm oil, tightening export supply and supporting world palm oil prices, which feeds into vegetable oil and meal substitution economics for feed buyers.
