US soybean crush hit record levels, with NOPA reporting 169.5 million bushels crushed in May and March setting an all-time monthly record of 181 million bushels. USDA raised its 2019-20 crush estimate to 2.140 billion bushels in June.
Analysts also flagged cool, dry Midwest weather and a possible corn yield above the June WASDE trend estimate of 178.5 bushels per acre.
Record crush boosts demand for soybeans and produces more soybean meal, which is bullish for soy complex prices and tightens meal supply for feed buyers. A larger-than-expected corn crop would be bearish for corn and would weigh on feed grain costs.
