The USDA crop report put 2025 US corn production at 16,752 million bushels, above the analyst average of 16,528, with yield at 186.0 bushels per acre. Soybean production was 4,253 million bushels, slightly below the 4,265 average forecast, and US corn stocks were 2,154 million bushels, above expectations.
A larger-than-expected corn crop and higher corn stocks add bearish pressure on corn prices. The small soybean shortfall gives only minor support to soybeans.
