The EPA published a Federal Register notice with supplemental data on production, imports and costs of renewable fuel. It seeks comment on possible reductions to the 2018 advanced biofuel and total renewable volumes and the 2019 biomass-based diesel volume under the RFS.
Comments are due October 19, 2017.
Possible cuts to biomass-based diesel and advanced biofuel mandates would reduce demand for soybean oil and other feedstocks, which is bearish for vegetable oil prices. The outcome remained uncertain at the time of publication.
