Sui Northern Gas Pipelines ordered Agritech Limited and Fatima Fertiliser to cut their RLNG supply to zero by midnight on April 30 so gas could be diverted to the power sector. Gas supply to the fertiliser industry was also suspended for several months last year, cutting urea output by about 200,000 tonnes.
Farmers are paying well above the official urea price per bag.
