Namibia's Meat Board says the foot-and-mouth outbreak in South Africa's Limpopo province will not affect Namibia because most local meat comes from domestic sources. The agriculture ministry suspended imports of cloven-hoofed animals and their products from South Africa as a precaution.
The import suspension removes a South African supply channel for regional meat and livestock, shifting demand toward local and other suppliers.
