The International Grains Council estimates 2018/19 global wheat output at 737 million tonnes, about 30 million lower than last year, with cuts in the EU, Russia and Australia. Global wheat consumption is put at 745 million tonnes, and corn output is raised 28 million tonnes to 1,076 million.
Global grain final stocks are projected to fall more than 50 million tonnes to their lowest level since 2015/16.
Lower wheat output and falling stocks tighten the supply outlook and support wheat prices. The larger corn crop is bearish for corn and adds to feed supply.
