The USDA's August WASDE raised the 2022/23 US soybean yield to 51.9 bu/acre from 51.5 and lifted production to 4.53 billion bushels. Ending stocks were raised to 245 million bushels, while the season-average soybean price was cut 5 cents to $14.35 per bushel.
Soybean meal and oil price forecasts were left unchanged.
Bigger US supplies and higher ending stocks point to softer soybean prices, and the lower season-average price forecast confirms the market's bearish read. Meal and oil forecasts were unchanged, so the report offers no new price signal for those products.
