Uncertainty persists over whether Mexico will enforce its decree banning GM corn, which calls for phasing out GM corn and glyphosate by January 2024. US and trade groups continue talks with Mexican leaders, and US Agriculture Secretary Vilsack has warned of higher food costs.
Mexico imports about 17 million tonnes of GM corn annually, mainly from the US.
