Soybean futures fell after USDA left U.S. domestic soybean ending stocks unchanged at 420 million bushels, contrary to trade expectations of a cut. Wheat futures rallied on Brazilian demand for U.S. wheat and firmer export expectations, while total U.S. soybean export commitments reached 51.0 million tonnes, up 21% year on year.
Unchanged soybean stocks despite strong exports signal a looser U.S. balance than the market expected, which pressures soy prices. Firm wheat export demand supports wheat prices.
