Farm Progress reports Mato Grosso farmers are preparing to plant second-crop corn after soybean harvest, with planting expected on about half of harvested soy acres by February 20. A farmer notes that favorable weather through pod-fill has turned less favorable during pod formation.
Dry or wet swings during Brazil's safrinha planting and development can shift corn supply expectations, so the mixed weather is a modest factor for corn prices.
