Officials described the flooding as comparable to the December 2015 event and said restrictions will be re-evaluated as conditions improve.
Barge traffic on the Upper Mississippi is halted at St. Louis, a key grain loading hub, which backs up grain shipments and likely widens barge freight costs and basis for corn, soybeans and DDGS until the river reopens.
