The Advanced Biofuels Association and NATSO urged Congress to keep the biodiesel blenders' tax credit unchanged. They argue a producer's credit would raise consumer fuel costs, and the $1 per gallon credit expired at the end of 2016.
The lobbying pushes against a shift to a producer's credit, which would reduce the incentive for biodiesel blending and could weigh on soybean oil demand. The lobbying itself is not a policy change, so the price effect is limited.
