OilPrice.com reports that US diesel, jet fuel and heating oil stocks fell over the summer for the first time since 1982, according to a Reuters analysis of EIA data. Distillate stocks are at a three-year seasonal low and 5.2% below the historical average after Hurricane Harvey cut refinery capacity.
Historically low distillate inventories heading into winter raise the risk of price spikes. Price implication is firmer diesel and heating oil.
