Panelists at an Ohio field day said both parties support agricultural exports ahead of the 2018 Farm Bill. Speakers cited a $28 return for every $1 invested in the Market Access Program and Foreign Market Development programs, and a House move to double their funding.
Stronger export promotion funding could support long-term foreign demand for US corn, soybeans and wheat. The effect on near-term prices is limited because the bill is still being written.
