The September USDA Supply/Demand and Crop Production reports showed corn average yield at 169.9 bushels per acre versus a trade estimate of 168, and larger soybean and corn stocks. Dec. corn futures closed 6 cents lower and Nov. soybeans 9.5 cents lower.
Analysts called the report bearish.
Bigger-than-expected crop estimates lower the price outlook for corn and soybean complex, reducing feed costs.
