A Congressional Research Service report reviews USDA export market development and export credit programs authorized by the 2014 farm bill. Market development funding is about $255 million a year, and export credit guarantees cover up to $5.5 billion of U.S. agricultural exports annually.
Export promotion and credit guarantees can help sustain foreign demand for U.S. grains and oilseeds. The report gives background rather than a new change, so its near-term price effect is minimal.
