Societe Generale analyst Kit Juckes says the euro's strength reflects ECB policy and that the currency is likely to return toward purchasing-power parity over time. EUR/USD was cited at about 1.33 at the end of 2017.
A long-run move toward PPP parity would strengthen the euro against the dollar, lowering the local-currency cost of dollar-priced commodities for European buyers. The effect on feed prices is indirect and gradual.
