The National Biodiesel Board and the American Soybean Association asked President Trump to support biodiesel growth under the RFS, restore demand lost to exemptions, and back extension of tax incentives. The letter says the EPA offered too little room for biodiesel growth in its proposed rule.
It also urges Congress to provide long-term certainty for tax incentives.
Stronger biodiesel policy would add soybean oil demand and support soybean crush economics. Uncertainty over the rule and tax credits keeps that demand outlook unsettled.
