Reuters reports Chinese pork prices in some regions have fallen more than 20% since African swine fever hit in August. China is considering state pork stockpiling to support farmers, though past purchases typically happen March to May.
Possible state buying could firm hog prices, but timing is uncertain and the outbreak keeps herd supply tight.
