A month-long strike by workers at Valparaiso, Chile's main port, turned violent and spread to other Pacific coast ports. The stoppage is complicating fruit exports at the start of the summer season.
Workers are demanding a bonus, formal contracts and better conditions.
The disruption mainly affects fruit flows, with limited direct effect on feed grain or oilseed prices. It is a minor logistics signal for buyers tracking Chilean port capacity.
