Traders and fund managers expect the yuan to be volatile in 2019 despite a strong start to the year. The currency fell 0.17% to 6.7892 per dollar on January 21 after its first weekly decline in five weeks.
Analysts cite a narrowing current account surplus and a slowing economy as reasons the currency could weaken.
Expected yuan volatility adds uncertainty to the cost of dollar-priced Chinese feed imports, but the article gives no clear directional signal for feed prices.
