Cattle inventory growth is slowing and 2019 or 2020 may be the last growth year, while weather has trimmed carcass weights by about 1% of beef production.
Slowing herd growth and weather-cut weights support cattle prices, while record protein output in total may limit gains in other meats. Beef strength tends to support demand for feed-based production.
