South Africa reported an African swine fever outbreak on a farm in North West province, which killed 32 of 36 pigs, with the remaining animals slaughtered. The outbreak occurred outside the country's ASF control zone and may be linked to contact with wild animals.
Disease spread outside controlled zones raises export restrictions and pork supply concerns for South Africa, modestly supporting feed demand for pork and little direct impact on global grain prices.
