Vietnam exported 6.4 million tonnes of rice worth $3.11 billion in the first nine months of the period, down 6.1% in volume and 10.9% in value year on year. The average export price was $484.8 per tonne, down 5.1%.
Exports to the Philippines fell, while shipments to China and Iraq rose strongly.
Lower export volumes and prices from the largest Asian exporter point to softer global rice trade values, partly offset by stronger buying from China and Iraq.
