AgRural reported Brazil's soybean planting reached 46% of the 2019/20 estimated area as of early November, behind last year's 60% but slightly ahead of the five-year average of 45%. Brazil is expected to harvest a record 121 million tons on a 1.3% larger planted area of 36.4 million hectares.
A record Brazilian crop expectation is bearish for soybeans and soybean meal export prices, while planting delays create offsetting weather risk. The net effect is modest pressure on soy complex prices.
