US tops as number one fuel ethanol producer, consumer and exporter

The Renewable Fuels Association reports the U.S. produced 15.8 billion gallons of ethanol in 2019, 54% of global output. U.S. exports fell modestly to about 1.5 billion gallons, with Brazil and Canada still the top destinations.

Exports to Brazil declined as inventories and production rose.
