The FAO Food Price Index fell for a fourth straight month and reached its lowest reading since December 2018. Dairy prices declined sharply while coarse grain prices fell further, with US maize prices down nearly 16%, and wheat export prices eased on expectations of ample supplies.
Ample global grain supplies and weaker demand from economic contraction are pressuring corn and wheat prices lower. Lower feed-grain costs support margins for feed buyers.
