Analysts expect higher crude palm oil sales after Malaysia suspended its CPO export tax from June until year-end, making its product more competitive than Indonesia's. AffinHwang Capital reported restocking by buyers that lifted demand in June and July.
Indonesia's export levy was raised to $55 per tonne, and India may consider raising edible oil import taxes.
Improved Malaysian export competitiveness and restocking demand support palm oil prices, while possible Indian import tax increases are a downside risk.
