GAPKI reports that Indonesia's palm oil industry supplies fatty acid methyl ester for biodiesel blending under the mandatory B30 program. The government targets 25 percent new and renewable energy in its national energy mix.
Biodiesel use has reduced diesel imports and saved foreign exchange, according to statistics agency BPS.
The biodiesel mandate absorbs a large share of domestic crude palm oil, which tightens exportable supply and supports global palm prices.
