Mexico to Ban Glyphosate, GM Corn Presidential Decree Comes Despite Intense Pressure from Industry, U.S. Authorities

A presidential decree in Mexico will phase out glyphosate use and GM corn cultivation, and the government has clarified that GM corn imports will end within three years. The ban covers yellow corn mainly used for livestock feed, not only food corn.

U.S. exports to Mexico have risen about 400% under NAFTA, mostly GM yellow dent corn.
