Commodities broadly fell on Friday as the dollar strengthened, with the Bloomberg Commodity Index posting its largest drop since April. The decline followed a record five-week run of hedge fund bets on rising commodity prices and came amid a spike in US bond yields.
A stronger dollar and rising yields reduce the appeal of dollar-priced raw materials and raise the risk that accommodative policy supporting the rally fades, which points to softer feed commodity prices in the near term.
