An analysis from Schroders on March 23 asks whether the U.S. dollar has further to fall after its recent stability. It cites a widening current account deficit, a March 2021 trade deficit of $85 billion in January, and the need for foreign investors to keep buying U.S. bonds.
A weaker dollar would support dollar-priced commodity prices, while continued stability would keep import costs for buyers elevated.
