The USDA's March 31 Grain Stocks and Planting Intentions report showed on-farm soybean stocks down 41.3%, and corn is up over 70% since August. Corn and soybean prices rose after the report, and lysine HCl and lysine sulfate prices have also increased.
Higher corn and soy costs make amino acid additives relatively more attractive than crude protein in feed formulation. That supports lysine demand and prices.
